One Step Closer

Sitting in a starbucks in Pennsylvania right now, as neither my grandparents nor their neighbors have internet. T minus 5 days till the overnight flight to Lisbon. Technically, I am supposed to be using this last time in the country to finish a paper for an Aircraft conference I'm presenting at, but really what I am doing is looking up people to couchsurf with in Europe to save $$ on hostels. As a side note, my couchsurfing profile is here.

For some reason, I really like the humidity out east here, between that and the fireflys, I generally enjoy my stay here. This trip, however, I am hoping to be able to investigate the bar scene in Philly, as its the first time I've been out here since I turned 21. Hopefully I'll be able to get in touch with a friend in the city and see what there is to see.

Anyway, some neat shots from my grandparent's house:

See if you can figure out what this is...

Commencement

Technically, the trip began a couple days ago with a drive to LA from San Luis to drop some things off and visit some family. The day after, did the same thing to Napa and then crashed in Reno, finally getting back to Boise yesterday. The two days in Boise have been fun and loaded with more condensed partying before we fly to the east coast tomorrow.

I am probably somewhere between 70 and 85 percent ready for Europe, and have most of what I think I will need. Really as long as there is some type of internet available to search for the next city's hostel, and keep in touch with friends/family, things should pretty much work out. Next week in PA will be my last in the US for a couple months, and should be enough to finalize whatever is needed.
